By the end of the day most of us are ready to shed the stress of a our work day. My after work routine is something like: commute home, go to the gym, make dinner, and cuddle with my cat. By the time I’m properly relaxed it’s time to go to bed and start it all again.
You’ve heard the term daily grind, back at it, 9 to 5, main hustle, and the many other names to refer to our jobs. The part of the puzzle we’re missing from this description is all the living we do on a daily basis outside of our working hours.
By contemplating a few questions, we can shift our frame of mind to see our day-to-day as more expansive than our time at work. You can start this practice my answering these suggested questions:
How do you spend your free time, even if it’s just a 45 minutes?
Who do you try to connect with daily?
What’s important for you to do for yourself today?
If you don’t have the answers to these questions right away, don’t sweat it. There’s no need to create more work for yourself.
